Personal Development

At Shawfield Primary School, children’s personal development and well-being make a positive difference to all children. We understand the importance of both the curriculum and the wider opportunities and experiences to achieve this. Our aim is to ensure that every child develops the knowledge and skills needed for participation and success in later life.

Shawfield Primary School promotes children’s broader development, character, and well-being by providing the care and support they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Children’s spiritual, moral, social, and cultural (SMSC) development is strong and embedded throughout the school’s curriculum and wider opportunities.

Exceptionally high standards of personal development and well-being have been sustained throughout the school. Pupils feel well supported and consistently develop detailed knowledge and skills. They make a strong, positive contribution to the school’s inclusive culture and demonstrate resilience, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of school life. As a result, they are exceptionally well prepared for their next steps and for life beyond school.
